Rejection

Almost everyone faces rejection at some points in their lives. You could be rejected by a group of people who don't think you belong  with them, or you could be rejected by someone you are very close to. They can adopt 2 methods: The direct I-don't-want-to-be-around-you-anymore  or it could be more subtle like unanswered phone calls, curt one word messages or no reply at all. At first it stings. It hurts. It leaves you feeling empty and somewhat worthless. You may experience mixed emotions like anger, self-pity, regret, bitterness, etc.

So how do you deal with rejection? How can you overcome the pain?

Firstly remember, is it worth it that the way you were treated should take away your happiness? Is it worth it to hold all that bitterness inside you? What I'm going to say next may get you thinking I'm nuts..... Forgive them! Yes, you read it right.... Forgive him or her or them and let it go! Now you must be thinking 'why should I forgive them? They made me feel like crap!' Maybe they shouldn't have treated you the way they should have but you don't have the right to hate them either. And why should you let it go?  Because not letting it go attacks who we are, destroys our self-esteem and our purpose in life.

What will hating them accomplish? Nothing! You’ll just be destroying yourself!

There are so many heroes in this world who faced rejection and overcame it. They were broken and shattered but they picked themselves up with God’s help and lived a peaceful & successful life!

Ps: Sometimes, when someone rejects you, it could be for a good reason.... they may be going through something in their life which may be the cause of their cold behaviour.  So don’t jump to conclusions.  Instead of hating them, try to help them.
