My dad was diagnosed with a type of lymphoma. It is cancer.
But here’s the unbelievable part….. When I first found out about it I was
totally calm. And throughout the whole process I was calm. But I can assure you
that my bravery was not my own. The peace I had came from the Truths I learnt
from God’s Word.
One key Scripture that gave me peace was this: “He Himself
bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might
live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.”
~1 Pet 2:24. If you look carefully, you’ll see that the verse doesn’t say ‘you
WILL BE healed’ but it says ‘you WERE healed’. (I’ll explain more about this later).
And yes….. God was true to His Word. My dad’s cancer
disappeared after a couple of months. The doctors were surprised because during
the journey the cancer had even spread to his spine. In the next post I will be
sharing Truths I learnt from the Bible that helped my family conquer this
dangerous situation.
