True Stories: Psalms 91 Miracles

You have your own bodyguards. Did you know that?

Not just average bodyguards. But the most elite security. Even in this #Covid-19 #pandemic.

Before I tell you 2 interesting true stories that happened to someone I know, let me ask you a question…

Do you believe that you are surrounded by angels?

Incident #1 (as narrated by that person)

Some years back there were riots In Mumbai, India. On that day I had to collect some booklets called ‘Why is it called Good Friday?’ which I had given for printing. The same week these riots happened. The man in charge of printing urged me not to come because of the riots. I went anyway, but I parked my car a fair distance away from the printing facility and said these words: “El-Shaddai is with me”. That means ‘God Almighty is with me’.

………………………………

What happens when I say  ‘God Almighty is with me’ ? Go to Psalms 91. It says “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” So when I say “El-Shaddai is with me” that means I’m under the shadow of the Almighty.

Let’s go to the next verses.

Psalms 91

1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High

Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;

My God, in Him I will trust.”

When I SAY that the Lord is my refuge, fortress, My God, in whom I trust, THEN you are under His feathers. You are under the shadow of the Almighty.

………………………………

Now with this Psalm in my mind I start walking the remaining distance. There are people and police around and I’m the only one walking on the street with that verse in mind. Suddenly stones were thrown and a massive ‘lathi charge’ (police attacking and trying to disperse crowds with sticks) began. People were running everywhere but I wasn’t.

I was thinking that whoever gets arrested will be taken to the police station. So, if they take me as well for one or two days, I will get the opportunity to preach the Word of God to them. I tried to go closer to them so that they will arrest me. At the same time, I was saying “El-Shaddai is with me”. At one point there were three people to my right and my left. God is my witness… all 6 of them got pasted by the police but they didn’t touch me. I collected my printouts and walked back to my car.

I began to question God. ‘I only used two lines - “El-Shaddai is with me. God Almighty is with me.” How come I became so invisible? They couldn’t see me! Then God spoke to me in my heart and said “Didn’t I promise you that when you say ‘God is my refuge and fortress’ you are under My shadow and My feathers are going to cover you like a mother hen covers her chick?”

Incident #2

Here is another true story of mine. I was coming to Bangalore from Bombay in a bus with my two small daughters. On that day a famous man called Rajkumar died which led to some violent acts by people. So my wife called me early morning and told me to go to a hotel and wait there for 1 or 2 days until things settles down. ‘Don’t bring the children home!’ she said.

I called my team and told them to pray “Jesus You are refuge, You are my fortress, my God in You I trust.” I don’t know where we were dropped. All the buses stopped there. There was no public transport and I didn’t know what to do. I told my daughters to just say that same verse and that the Lord knows what to do.

A rickshaw driver came and everybody pounced on him. He said ‘I’ve not come to take anybody.’ After 15 minutes, he parked his rickshaw, came to me and said “I’ve come to take you. Where do you want to go?” I remembered by wife’s words warning me not to bring the children because at a place near where they live some people burnt a car. She saw this on the news channel.

But I kept saying “El-Shaddai is with me. You are my refuge, fortress, My God, in whom I trust.” I know Lord that you have covered this rickshaw with your wings. Ours was the only vehicle running on the road and we reached home without a scratch! If you miss Psalms 91:2, the whole Psalms 91 doesn’t work for you……

If God is not your refuge, fortress and if you don’t trust Him and you are in fear, the protection is not there because you have not yet believed in His Promise.

There are so many more incidents in my life where this verse 1 and 2 has worked every time for me.

With my eyes I can see vehicles are being burnt and the road is lonely. But with my heart I can see that I am going with the top security of angels all around me because I am walking with the Most High God.

.

.

By faith I know I’m surrounded by angels. Can I see them? No. But I know that they are there because the spiritual world is what the Word of God says it is. When I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart that I’m surrounded by angels then I receive those things in my life.
